Dear Bear Families,

On behalf of our entire staff, it is my absolute pleasure to welcome you to the 2026-2027 school year at Pat Butler Elementary—proud home of the Butler Bears! Whether you are returning to us or joining our family for the very first time, we are thrilled to embark on this upcoming school year together.

The elementary school years are a magical, exciting time of growth. At Pat Butler, we recognize that each child brings unique gifts and talents to our campus. Our dedicated, highly qualified staff works collaboratively every day to design learning experiences aligned with the California State Standards that inspire academic achievement, lifelong curiosity, and holistic growth. We are truly committed to putting children first, ensuring that every single day is positive, safe, and meaningful.

Important Dates & Back-to-School Information

To help your family prepare for a successful start, please take note of these key dates and upcoming events:

• August 3 | Aeries Parent Data Confirmation (PDC) Opens: Please update your family’s information via the Aeries Parent Portal. Our goal is 100% completion by August 10th. Bonus: Students whose families complete this on time will be entered to win a special PBIS prize!

• August 10 | Class Assignments Released: Your child’s teacher assignment will be officially posted and sent out via ParentSquare.

• August 12 | Meet the Teacher & Title I Meeting:

  • 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM: Bring your family to campus to meet your child's new teacher!

  • 6:00 PM – 6:30 PM: Join us for our Parent Title I Meeting and a Q&A session to get all your last-minute questions answered before the big day.

  • 6:30 PM – 6:45 PM: New Parent Question and Answer Session

• August 13 | The First Day of School!: School begins promptly at 8:00 AM. For students in grades 1–6, we will gather together on the blacktop at 7:50 AM to kick off our year.

We RISE Together: Our PBIS Culture

As a Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) school, character development is interwoven into our daily language, lessons, and activities. We explicitly teach, encourage, and celebrate positive behavior.

Our Butler Bears are always ready to RISE above by demonstrating:

• Integrity daily

• Safety in all environments

• Excellence in everything we do

Throughout the year, students will be recognized in various ways for showcasing these important qualities, helping us maintain a supportive environment where students thrive socially, emotionally, and academically.

Get Involved: Partner with the Butler Family

Family and community collaboration is the ultimate cornerstone of our success. Your involvement makes a tremendous difference, and we highly value your unique perspective and input. Please consider partnering with us this year through the following opportunities:

• Volunteering: Help out in the classroom, join us for field trips, or assist with on-campus events. (To get started, please fill out the volunteer packet on the PRJUSD website, then stop by our front office with a valid photo ID and an updated TB screening).

• Parent Organizations & Committees: Join our Parent Teacher Association (PTA), English Language Advisory Committee (ELAC), or School Site Council (SSC).

• Continuous Learning: Attend our community parent meetings and Parent University sessions.

Meeting dates, times, and updates will be shared each month in our weekly newsletter and right here on our website.
