Pat Butler Weekly Update
Dear Pat Butler Families,
What a fun and energetic way to wrap up our week at Pat Butler!
A huge thank you to our Cross Country coaches, Mr. Douglass and Ms. Georgina, for dedicating their time and encouraging our student-athletes every step of the way.
We also want to give a special shout-out to Mr. Bill, Eli, and Patricia for working tirelessly behind the scenes and always going above and beyond to keep our campus spotless and safe. They are a rockstar custodial team!!
Finally, thank you to our wonderful PTA and alumni Hayden for bringing the music and rocking out with us during lunch on Friday for Rock Your School Day! Our students had a blast, and we are so grateful for everyone who makes Pat Butler such a vibrant place to learn and grow.
New Report Cards!
We are moving to a Standards-Based Report Card for grades 1-5. This is a big shift from how
grades were given in the past, and we want to make sure you know what to expect before
you meet with your child’s teacher. Please review the attached information prior to your parent teacher conference.
New Report Card Information for Parents
Parent-Teacher Conferences: October 5th-9th:
This week we will be hosting parent-teacher conferences. Every child should have one scheduled as it is a wonderful time to partner together to support our Butler Bears. We will follow a minimum-day schedule all week. It is essential that you are on time to pick up your child this week, as we have training that our classified staff need to get to, and our office staff will be assisting with translations. We will not have care available after 12:30. Students will be dismissed at the following times:
TK: 12:00
Kindergarten-3rd: 12:15
4th-6th: 12:25
Book Fair
Our Scholastic Book Fair is just right around the corner, October 5th - October 9th. We will be open to students during their lunch recess and after school from 12:30 - 3:30 for students and families. It is always a fun time, especially when it falls during parent teacher conferences. If you are able to, please help support the Pat Butler Book Fair and spread the word about when it is happening. We will need volunteers to make this happen. Thank you to all of those who have already signed up.

Get Ready to Shine: Talent Show Auditions are TOMORROW! 🌟🎤🎨
Let’s make this year’s Talent Show one for the ages! Whether your child sings, dances, does magic, tells jokes, or plays an instrument, tomorrow is their moment to step into the spotlight and share their passion with our school family.
Art Showcase: It’s not just about the stage—we will also be celebrating our extraordinary student artists! Be sure to check out the stunning art pieces displayed alongside the performances.
Encourage your kiddos to bring their courage, energy, and creativity. We can’t wait to see all the incredible talent our school has to offer!

Volunteer Orientation
This year, all parent volunteers are required to meet with Ms. Holman prior to volunteering. Thank you to everyone who has already connected with Ms. Holman, and attended the parent orientation zoom last week. If you were not able to make it, please email her at cholman@pasoschools.org. You will not be able to volunteer in your child’s classroom or attend field trips without this. We look forward to hearing from you.
Make a Difference Where It Matters Most: Become a Youth Basketball Coach! 🏀✨
Are you ready to inspire, lead, and make a lasting impact on our kids? We are actively looking for passionate individuals to coach our 4th–6th Grade Basketball teams for the upcoming season!

By sharing your time, you become a mentor, a role model, and a vital part of our school’s community spirit.

Hispanic Heritage Month: Week 4
As we head into Week 4 of Hispanic Heritage Month, our classrooms are diving into the lives of Famous Figures and Sports Legends!
This week, students will explore the inspiring stories, perseverance, and groundbreaking achievements of influential Hispanic figures across sports, science, art, and leadership. From trailblazing athletes like Roberto Clemente and Laurie Hernandez to visionaries who changed history, our kiddos will learn how these leaders used their talents to overcome obstacles and pave the way for others.
What to ask your student at home this week:
"Which famous figure or athlete did you learn about this week?"
"What is one obstacle they overcame to achieve their dream?"
Walk/Roll to School Day
