Dear Pat Butler Families,
Thank you for another great week! Thank you to our garden educator, Ms. Addison, and her crew for organizing such an incredible garden work party, and to all of our students and families who joined in getting our brand-new garden ready to grow! A huge thank you to our afterschool site supervisor, Itzel, for partnering with us to bring our ELOP students to help move soil. We could not have done it without your partnership.
Homecoming Week September 21st-September 25th
Pat Butler & Lion’s Club School Family BBQ- September 24th
We are so excited to partner with the Lion’s Club for our Family BBQ. There will be free games for all to play and food for purchase. We recommend preordering your food using the QR code as limited food will be sold at the event.
Pat Butler PTA Membership Drive
Butler Bears, we are officially mid PTA membership challenge!
Classes will compete to see which classroom can get the most family PTA memberships. The winning class will earn 15 minutes of extra recess, and their teacher will win a Teacher Survival Basket filled with some fun goodies to help get them through the school year.

Joining PTA is an easy way to support your student and our school. A PTA membership is only $10, and you do not have to attend meetings or volunteer to become a member. Your $10 membership helps support the activities, programs, and opportunities we bring to our students throughout the year.
So ask your family to join PTA and help your class win! More families. More ideas. Bigger success for our kids.
Pat Butler School Site Council
Thank you to our parents and staff that have agreed to participate in our School Site Council (SSC). Our first SSC will be held on 9/23 in room 18.
Hispanic Heritage Month: Week 2!
It was wonderful to learn all about the art and music from different Hispanic countries! We always enjoy our Folklorico dancers and especially loved learning from them this year. Each week throughout the month, our school will focus on a specific theme. The second week will be about geography. We will learn about maps and flags and specific regions of Hispanic countries around the world. We are so excited to participate in a school tour to conclude our work together and see all of the beautiful things we learn together.
ALICE Parent Night
We will be hosting an ALICE parent information night on September 23rd. This will be held at the District Office in the Board Room. Please see the attached flyer for more information.

Parent Volunteers
Volunteers must complete a Volunteer Packet each year; new volunteers must be fingerprinted for field trips. The fingerprinting process will take a few weeks. Once you complete the fingerprinting process, you will not have to repeat it.
If you plan to volunteer and/or accompany your student on field trips, I encourage you to complete the process now so you are cleared. Please contact our office for the volunteer packet and details. Also, we are asking that our volunteers meet with Ms. Holman to go over expectations and roles. We will reach out to you to coordinate this. Volunteer Packet
Parent/Teacher Conferences: October 5th-9th: Please be on the lookout for communication from your student’s teacher(s) about upcoming conferences. We will follow a minimum-day schedule all week. Students will be dismissed at the following times:
TK: 12:00
Kindergarten-3rd: 12:15
4th-6th: 12:25
Cross Country - Grades 4-6
Walk/Roll to School Day

Flu Vaccine Clinics
There are two upcoming free flu vaccine clinics, which serve as a vital tool to reduce student and staff absences caused by seasonal flu symptoms. While these events are located at specific campuses, they are free and open to all PRJUSD families and anyone ages 3 and older. The first clinic will be held at Winifred Pifer Elementary on Thursday, October 8th, 2026. The second clinic will be at Glen Speck Elementary on Wednesday, October 15th, 2026. Please feature these dates in your upcoming site newsletters and parent announcements, encouraging families to visit slocounty.gov/FreeFluVaccines for further details.

New Youth Sports Opportunities are Coming to Paso Schools
Clinics are open to all PRJUSD students in grades 4–8, and scholarships are available for eligible students. Space is limited—beach volleyball is nearly full, so families interested in volleyball or basketball are encouraged to register early.
