Dear Pat Butler Families,

As we settle into the rhythm of the new school year, I am already filled with pride seeing our theme, Rising Higher, come to life across our campus. We are climbing toward our goals together, taking it one step, one day, and one victory at a time. The sunshine on our campus is the warmth, joy, and dedication radiating from the best staff, students, and families in town. To keep this positive momentum going, consistency is key. Children truly thrive when they experience steady routines, clear expectations, and open encouragement both at school and at home. Your daily partnership, communication, and support make all the difference in helping our Bears feel secure and ready to learn. Thank you for walking side by side with us as we guide our students to new heights. Let us keep inspiring each other, celebrating the small wins, and making this a remarkable year together!

Parent Coffee Hour

Our first Parent Coffee Hour of the year is Thursday, September 3rd. This will be an informal time for me to meet with you and engage in collaborative conversations about current events at Pat Butler. We will begin signing parents into Verkada (the campus visitor system) at 8:05 and begin at 8:10 in the MPR.

School Site Council Committee (SSC) Nominations

The SSC is a group of people selected by their peers to represent parents, teachers, administration, and staff. The SSC is responsible for approving, monitoring, and evaluating the Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA) for schools receiving specific state and federal funds. Please use this link to nominate an individual for SSC. We need your help! Please get involved.

RISE Tag Art Competition

Through PBIS, or Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports, we teach students the importance of respect, integrity, safety and excellence. Throughout the year, students will have an opportunity to apply for each tag after they have learned about the attributes of each characteristic. Annually, we hold an art competition for one Butler Bear to design the tags for the school year. Until September 11th, students will have the opportunity to design the RISE tag for the year and the office staff will judge and announce the winners. Please ask your child if they are interested in participating.

Vision Screening Update:

The Pat Butler Vision Screening will not be until September. I apologize for my error.

Cross Country

We are excited to announce that Cross Country will begin this week for 4th-6th grade students. As always, we need to ensure air quality and weather is appropriate and safe for students. We will send a message through parent square if we need to cancel practices. We will also make a loud speaker announcement so that your students are aware. Thank you for your support. It is going to be a great year for Pat Butler athletics with our AD, Collin Douglass, leading us. He has already sent an email to families with details. We are grateful.

Birthday celebrations

In order to model and support healthy choices, we will not be allowing students to bring in food for birthday celebrations. We will continue to celebrate all of our students' birthdays in class with the birthday song and if you would like to send goody bags without food items, you may. Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our kids healthy!

Parent Volunteers

Volunteers must complete a Volunteer Packet each year; new volunteers must be fingerprinted for field trips. The fingerprinting process will take a few weeks. Once you complete the fingerprinting process, you will not have to repeat it.

If you plan to volunteer and/or accompany your student on field trips, I encourage you to complete the process now so you are cleared. Please contact our office for the volunteer packet and details.

PTA News

Butler Bears, we are kicking off a fun PTA membership challenge from September 1st through October 1st!

Classes will compete to see which classroom can get the most family PTA memberships. The winning class will earn 15 minutes of extra recess, and their teacher will win a Teacher Survival Basket filled with some fun goodies to help get them through the school year.

Joining PTA is an easy way to support your student and our school. A PTA membership is only $10, and you do not have to attend meetings or volunteer to become a member. Your $10 membership helps support the activities, programs, and opportunities we bring to our students throughout the year.

So ask your family to join PTA and help your class win! More families. More ideas. Bigger success for our kids.

Student Personal Transportation Devices Students who ride a bicycle, scooter, e-bike, e-scooter, skateboard, or roller skates to school are expected to follow all applicable laws and safety requirements. This includes rules related to speed, age, licensing, equipment, and the use of a properly fitted and fastened bicycle helmet. Personal transportation devices that do not meet legal requirements for use on public roads or paths may not be permitted on school campuses. Please remember that school parking lots are also considered part of the school campus. For everyone’s safety, students may not ride personal transportation devices on campus during the school day. Once they arrive on campus, students should walk their device to the designated parking area and securely lock or store it. Thank you for helping us keep our campuses safe for all students.
