Pat Butler Weekly Update

Posted Date: 08/16/26 (11:53 AM)

Dear Pat Butler Families,

What an incredible first two days of school! It has been wonderful welcoming our students back, and we are so proud of how smoothly our school year has kicked off.

This week, our 1st through 6th graders participated in our PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) rotations. Together, we explored what our RISE characteristics look like in action across different areas of campus—from the classrooms and hallways to the cafeteria and playground.

We loved seeing so many of our Bears actively engaged in learning, making new connections, and already taking steps to make our school the very best learning community it can be. We are so grateful for your partnership and look forward to continuing this great work and momentum in the week ahead!

Celebrating Our Brand-New Play Structure: Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony This Friday!

We are thrilled to invite our entire school community to a special Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony this Friday, August 21st at 2:30 p.m. as we officially open our brand-new facility addition!

This project has been a labor of love for our school, and we can’t wait to gather together to celebrate this exciting new chapter. It’s going to be a fun event filled with school pride, and we would love nothing more than to see all of our families there to share in the joy. Mark your calendars, bring your school spirit, and join us as we cut the ribbon on this incredible new space for our students!

PTA News

Butler Bears, we are kicking off a fun PTA membership challenge from September 1st through October 1st!

Classes will compete to see which classroom can get the most family PTA memberships. The winning class will earn 15 minutes of extra recess, and their teacher will win a Teacher Survival Basket filled with some fun goodies to help get them through the school year.

Joining PTA is an easy way to support your student and our school. A PTA membership is only $10, and you do not have to attend meetings or volunteer to become a member. Your $10 membership helps support the activities, programs, and opportunities we bring to our students throughout the year.

So ask your family to join PTA and help your class win! More families. More ideas. Bigger success for our kids.

Parking Lot Safety Reminder: For the safety of all our students, please do not park behind other cars or leave your vehicle idling in non-designated spots in the upper lot. Students will not be permitted to be dropped off in the upper parking lot.

Thank you so much for helping us keep our morning routine safe and smooth for everyone!

Elementary Vision Screenings

Paso Robles Unified School District is once again partnering with the local Lions Club to provide vision screenings for all TK/Kindergarten, 2nd-grade, and 5th-grade students. As a parent or guardian, you have the right to opt your child out of this screening. If you prefer that your child does not participate, please submit a written opt-out note to our front office staff prior to your school's scheduled screening date.

Edia Attendance Platform

We’re excited to launch Edia’s AI Attendance platform in PRJUSD this school year! It uses AI to help us better understand why students are absent so that we can respond quickly with the right support to help them get back to class. But we can’t do it alone – we need your help! You’ll receive a text from Edia if your child is marked absent. Simply reply to the text with the reason for the absence. It’s quick, simple, and helps us support your child more effectively. Your response will serve as verification of an absence and will be recorded in our student information system. It will also help us collectively keep track of our students to ensure their educational success. All notifications will be tracked for verification.
