Happy Mother's Day! I wish all our wonderful mothers a joyful day. Thank you for all that you do.

This week, I had the honor of watching Mrs. Wagner and Mrs. Reid be recognized at the PRUSD Employee of the Year celebration.  I am so grateful for the opportunity to work with such talented staff and to celebrate with them!

A huge thank you to our PTA for making sure that the staff had amazing treats each day this week!  The staff enjoyed the wonderful goodies each day!

Garden Work Party- May 21st at 3:00 p.m.

As you know we have the most amazing garden educator- Mr. Apple. He and I are hosting a garden work party on May 21st. Some of you may know that we are relocating our garden this summer and are hoping to take the opportunity to expand our garden and build upon our garden partnership with One Cool Earth. We can not do this alone!

Please mark your calendar to join us. If you are able, please bring wheel barrows and shovels. This will be a wonderful opportunity for our little bears to be a part of our community and work together to accomplish something that will last for years to come!

CAASPP Information for grades 3-6

We value your partnership in supporting your child’s growth and are committed to providing meaningful assessments that guide instruction and celebrate progress. We assess student learning in multiple ways, allowing students to demonstrate mastery through both process and product. 

Part of this assessment plan includes the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP), which comprises:

• Smarter Balanced Summative Assessments for ELA and math (grades 3–6)

• California Science Test (grades 5)

• OR the California Alternate Assessments (CAA) for ELA, math (grades 3–6), and science (grades 5)

This year’s testing window is April 28–May 22.  More information will be coming home from your student’s teacher.
